About Us

Eide Saw Company was founded by George Eide in 1927, the same year Charles Lindbergh flew the Atlantic.

Since it's inception, Eide Saw Company has been a full service saw repair facility. Mr. Eide operated his business with customer satisfaction being the first rule."Furnish a quality product, on a timely basis, at a fair price." were words Mr. Eide and his experienced team lived by.

Eide Saw proudly operated during the Great Depression and through the years of World War II. Glenn, George's son, took over after the War, and continued the successful operation of the business with customer service first and foremost.

Glenn Eide was still running the business when Carbide (a German invention) was introduced into the United States after World War II. This required a huge investment of new machinery to accommodate the servicing of the new carbide tipped saw blades. Eide Saw soon became a leader in the Upper Midwest for this new cutting technology.

In 1976, Eide Saw Company decided to put It's efforts into truss manufacturing machinery and sold Eide Saw Company to Jim Battenberg. Jim understood the value and tradition of the Eide name and it was changed slightly to Eide Saw Service, Inc.

Jim began investing in computerized grinding machinery, offering the customer full professional precision sharpening service. This is how the company has always done and always will do - service customers in house.

In 1993, Jane Burmaster, Jim's daughter, purchased Eide Saw Service. The name again changed slightly, to Eide Saw and Tool Service, representing new technologies. Jane's experience made her the natural successor to keep the Eide name number one in the saw and tool maintenance business. The Company has been investing in newer computerized state of the art saw grinders both for carbide grinding and manufacturing custom saw blades. Eide has the finest computerized machines to service high speed steel, segmental, and friction blades. Eide Saw is the only facility in the Upper Midwest that can recondition blades to original factory specifications.

Since passing the business to Jane, it has grown by leaps and bounds. We are proud to say that Eide has customers in 15 states, and the customer base numbers in the thousands.

Since the beginning, Eide Saw and Tool has always been a family business. George's motto of taking care of the customers still stands today, "Furnish a quality product, on a timely basis, at a fair price."

We at Eide Saw and Tool are extremely proud of George, Glenn, and Jim for making Eide a viable and continuing service our customers can depend on.
